Samantha pounded up the steps off the halls, avoiding the common room. She just couldn’t bring herself to go back to the common room for the night. Of course, it was late, almost ten at night and she should go back there, but she just couldn’t bring herself to do that. Samantha stopped at fourth floor, pulling her black hair out of her pony tail, and letting it fall to a little bit past her shoulders. Her hair was wavy but straight all in one. It was weird, not really..curly per say but not completely straight. She was sure she wasn’t the only one with hair like that, she couldn’t be. Putting the black hair tie around her wrist, the looked around. She knew the hair tie was going to leave a mark later.
Samantha looked around the fourth floor. There was a bench to the right of her, and a window above the bench. Then there was door on every side of her, each leading to their own mystery, their own secrets were held behind each and every door. Samantha sat on the bench, staring out the window. She had come from the forbidden forest, of course, she didn’t go in. She thought she wanted to, but ended up leaving with the other girls. Humph. ‘Where did they go?’ She thought to herself. It seemed to echo around her mind. Not that she was upset. She kind of liked it now..the quietness of the air, you could even hear it wisp out of the vents.

Alexis left the Forest and she thought of going in the common room but something was really bugging her, she just can't point it. She kept walking in the stair case, she thought she was in the sixth floor; she walked through the halls and opened some doors. She ponytailed her hair, she walked straight up, getting ready for some adventures.
After a while she saw a girl that looked like Samantha, she walked closer and it was Samantha. She didn't know if she would talk to her. 'Maybe I should or maybe I shouldn't I mean she was like angry at me a while ago....' She thought. She was going to leave the floor to get back in the common room but she accidentally made a loud noise, loud enough for Samantha to hear, she hoped that she would think an excuse why she was there
She turned back and faced Samantha.

Samantha stood, her head snapping the direction of the sound. Really? GOSH! What was that!?!!? She walked a step closer, realizing it was Alexis. Oh...of course. She seemed determined...but...to do what? The girl was facing Samantha and she walked closer. "Hey! What did you do to make that noise?" Samantha asked. Did she like drop something? Her eyes scanned the floor very quickly before looking back up at Alexis. Wow. Was this girl following her or something? Samantha's mind raced. The black lake, then the forest and now here. Well, it was kind of normal to meet each other here. Student were always in these halls, exploring. Except for the more meek ones, who were afraid of going anywhere and anywhere. She wondered if Alexis fit into that category, meek. She seemed meek, but then again not really. Hmm. Samantha turned her attention back to the beginning question. Her mind seemed to always race, she had jumped from what that noise was to if Alexis was adventurous or not. Was she? Never mind! "So..what did you do to make such a loud noise?"

Alexis felt guilty because she looked like she was stalking her. 'I guess I'm caught' she thought.
"Err...I didn't really mean to I mean I was searching around the halls because you and Evelyn said there were mysteries around the school so...I'm here...I was actually heading for the sixth floor, I thought I'm there but I was here all along, I saw you and I didn't know if I should talk to you or not....because you were like mad at me a while ago in the forest so I was thinking about leaving but I made a noise so I just turned to you cause I know you'll know I'm here..." Alexis said to Samantha, explaining...
After Alexis talked she stood up by a door and tried to open it but she couldn't leave Samantha because she was still talking to her. She turned back facing Samantha, waiting for her to talk back.

Samantha listened to Alexis ramble on about what happened at the forest. This girl….wow. She was really good at finding out how people felt right away, was she acting mad? Sure, she thought about it…but she wasn’t acting like it? Was she? Hmmm….maybe she did act mad…or mean or something. “I wasn’t mad at you” Samantha lied smoothly. “And yes, there are lots of mysteries around here, but you have to be careful. You’re only a first year, you don’t really know your way around the school, and you could end up getting hurt.” Samantha bit her tongue, only for a second then letting it go. It wasn’t very noticeable. It was a bad habit she had picked up for many years.
She was also a first year, so Samantha didn’t know why she talked like she did to Alexis. She sounded like some snotty 3rd year who was a know it all. But really…Alexis could get hurt.

Alexis thought 'She sounded like Evvie and she's also a first year like me....ok she confirmed that she has a bad habit...but I think I could work it out...I could because back then when I was in middle school I survived from those girls who love themselves too much' . "Well ok...I guess I should think first even if this place looks pretty guarded I should still be careful....thanks for the tip though....." Alexis said to Samantha. Alexis pulled her ponytail and walked through the halls, "Oh! And will we still meet tomorrow in the lake?" Alexis asked as she turned around to Samantha waiting for her to answer. "It dosen't bother me if were not going..." Alexis said to Samantha.
She waited for her to answer and took a deep breath, stood up straight and waited...

Samantha listened to Alexis say thank you for the tip. She smiled and nodded, not really wanting to say anymore. "Ok..yeah..at the lake..tomorrow..sure." She said, unsure if she should reject it or not. She should...well...she already said she would so guess there's no other choice but to go. She pasted a smile onto her face that was as unreal as her friendship with Kate. Samantha sat on the bench, staring back out the window. She wasn't sure if Alexis was staying or going though.
Samantha looked at the sky, the stars seemed to align themselves each night, never moving. But they always looked in a different pattern each night..didn't they? Sure they did...you never really knew though...did you? You would have to have a picture perfect memory. Samantha moved her eyes to looking out past the land, but not at the sky. You couldn't see the exit to the grounds, it was to far for that.

When Samantha agreed to go to the lake, Alexis kept walking, looking at the doors and figuring out what's there. 'I guess the school is cool after all but...still...it's hard to make friends...I'm not sure if she love herself that much or she's just like that ...i wonder how i could be friends with her...she's different of all the persons i've met....she is...nevermind....' She thought.
'Things here are unexpected and I know this isn't a dream, I mean if this is a dream, why haven't I woke up yet? Why is this dream so long? Who could answer my questions? Am I really a muggleborn who can talk to snakes? A muggleborn who wants to fit in but can't? Who am I in this world?' She thought. She sighed as she goes. She was by the stairs and went down

Samantha listened to Alexis pound down the stairs. Didn't she want to get to the sixth floor? That was up...not down. Whatever. She stared down at the ground now, noting there was grass...not dirt. At her house it was dirt, because they had cows and cows ate all of the grass and they couldn't get it to grow back now. She sat there for a while, a swelling feeling growing and pushing inside of her. She stood, taking a deep breath and prepared to go back to her common room for the night.
Samantha walked angrily, she had been sidetracked, again. She didn't want to go back to the common room. Trying to see by the dim light of the lights on the walls, the hurried down the hallways, making her way to down the hall. She wanted to see what was in at least one of these doors...it was...weird. She thought she heard something..but she wanted to see.

Alexis went down stairs, she wanted to go to the sixth floor but she forgot her owl when she came upstairs. Alexis got her owl, and her owl made a noise, "Shh! Aura! Samantha might get mad because of the noise you made..." Alexis said to Aura, Her owl. Alexis went to Samantha, "Hey, uhm....I'm sorry for being a jerk and everything and sorry for my owl's noise and it dosen't bother me if you won't go to the black forest tomorrow, i might even just to the wand shop to help the shopkeeper, Miss Dana Wendale." Alexis said to Samantha
Alexis didn't wait for her to talk, Alexis just went to the common room and placed her owl near her place, and she fixed her luggage and took her wand with her. She came out of the common room, she took a look at Samantha. 'I wonder why she seems different in every way of muggles, sigh...it's so hard to fit in...especially when you don't know what to do when hard times approach you...' Alexis thought. Alexis nodded and went upstairs to see the view, with her wand for protection.

Samantha stopped short when Alexis came up to her and started rambling on. She was left stuttering after Alexis had left. She hadn't even given her a chance for crying out loud! To explain herself or..or nothing. UGH! She turned, away from whatever she was going to do before and really resisted stomping down the hall. She flew down the stairs, running to her common room.
This wasn't right. The girl wasn't a jerk. And what did Alexis have..mind reading!?! Of course not..she couldn't. But..Samantha never acted mean to her! Did she? UGH! She kept going down the halls, flight after flight of stairs. There weren't that many, but could they really last this long. How high up was she before she started coming down? Samantha gritted her teeth, starting down the last flight of stairs on the way to her common room.
